1. Remove the rear brake caliper and remove the support disc (see chapter Front and rear suspension).
2. Check the friction linings for chips, cracks and wear.
3. Check the thickness of the pads.
- Standard thickness: 2.5mm
- Maximum thickness: 1.0 mm
If the thickness of the pads is less than the maximum, replace the pads as a set.
4. Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum.
- Standard diameter: 170 mm
- Maximum diameter: 171 mm
5. Check the inner surface of the drum for burrs, wear and other damage.
