Removal and installation
Caution: If the engine is hot, allow it to cool before operating.
For SRS components, follow the instructions in chapter Additional Security System.
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position, set the air conditioner control to the maximum heating position (32°C) and turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
2. Drain the coolant, see chapter Mechanical part of the engine.
3. Release the clamp and disconnect the water valve cable from the valve lever.

4. Loosen the clamps and remove the heater hoses.

Prepare a container and cloth to collect the leaking coolant. Do not allow it to come into contact with the car body.
5. Unscrew the heater unit mounting nut.

Caution: Do not damage or bend the brake and fuel pipes.
6. Remove the instrument panel, see chapter Body.
7. Remove the cooling unit, see above.
8. Unscrew the bolts and remove the heater unit.

Prepare a cloth to collect the leaking coolant. Do not allow it to come into contact with the body.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Check for air leaks in the cooling unit area.
Do not confuse the heater hoses on the inlet and outlet sides.
Tighten the heater hose clamps securely.
Adjust the water valve cable, see the relevant section below.
