Airbag device
Frontal airbags for the driver and front passenger are designed to deploy in the event of a severe frontal impact and help cushion the blow to the head.
The airbag system is not a substitute for seat belts, so be sure to wear your seat belts.
Conditions for the deployment of front airbags
The front airbags are activated when the ignition key is in position "II". In the event of a severe frontal impact (when even with seat belts fastened, the head can hit the steering wheel), a sensor activates the airbag system, the airbags instantly deploy and help soften the impact of the driver's and front passenger's head. In addition, depending on the force of the impact and the condition of the fastened seat belts, the airbags and seat belt pretensioners of the driver and front passenger are independently triggered. Consequently, in a collision, the pretensioner and airbag on only one side can be triggered.
Caution: Do not touch the airbag system components immediately after deployment, as they are very hot and may cause burns.
Note:
- The system does not operate if the vehicle body has sufficiently absorbed the impact.
- Airbags deploy instantly and can cause bruises, burns, etc.
- Once deployed, the cushions deflate instantly, clearing the view.
- When the airbags are deployed, white smoke appears, which is not a fire and does not have a harmful effect on health.
- Airbags are not reusable, so after they have been deployed, contact a service station.
Driver's front airbag

Front passenger front airbag

The front passenger airbag is activated even if there is no passenger.
Deployment of front airbags
Airbags deploy in the following cases:

Note: Air bags may not deploy when colliding with objects that deform upon impact and cushion the impact.
Airbags can also deploy if there is a strong impact from the road surface.

Airbags may not deploy depending on the force, location and direction of the impact.

Note: The system may not operate if the vehicle body has sufficiently absorbed the impact.
When airbags don't deploy
The airbags do not deploy in situations where the safety of the crew members can only be ensured by the seat belts, such as in a low-speed collision or in the following situations:

Depending on the nature of the accident, airbags may sometimes deploy.
SRS warning light

Lights up if a malfunction is detected in the SRS system.
In normal conditions, the SRS indicator lamp comes on after turning the ignition key to position "II" and goes out after approximately 6 seconds.
