Replacement of a lamp of the top lantern of a stoplight
1. Open the back door.
2. Remove the tailgate lower trim (see ch. Body).
3. Disconnect the 2-pin connector from the top brake light.
4. Turn off the screw from the top lantern of a stoplight and remove - a lantern from a back door.
5. Remove diffuser and replace lamp.
Checking the Brake Fault Sensor
1. Make sure the brake lights come on.
If all brake lights do not illuminate, perform a brake light system test (see above).
If one of the lamps does not light, check the lamp, if the lamp is working, proceed to the next test.
2. Remove the side trim of the luggage compartment.
3. Close contact No. 4 of the sensor on «mass». Make sure that after turning the ignition key from OFF to ON (II) the BRAKE LAMP indicator lights up briefly and then goes out.
If the indicator does not go out, then there is an open in the white-green wire or the stop lamp indicator circuits or circuit board are faulty.
If the indicator goes out, proceed to the next test.
4. Close contact No. 3 of the sensor on «mass» and press the brake pedal. Make sure that when turning the ignition key from OFF to ON (II) the BRAKE LAMP indicator lights up briefly and then goes out.
If the indicator does not go out, replace the sensor and check the operation of the brake lights and brake light indicator.
If the indicator goes out, then there is no «weight» (G552) or there is an open in the black wire.
