Attention.
- Avoid cutting your hands while working, wear gloves.
- Do not damage the instrument panel. Also, do not deform the steering column beam brackets.
1. Remove the instrument panel (see above).
2. Remove the following components:
- Instrument cluster panel (see above).
- Selector lever (automatic transmission)see chapter Automatic transmission).
- Front passenger airbag assembly (see chapter Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)).
3. Disconnect the connectors shaded in the figure below.
4. Unscrew the ground bolt.
5. On IHCC models, remove the relay box mounting bolt (brown) on the driver's side.
6. Remove the electrical wiring and connector clamps.
Before removing the beam, remember the locations of the electrical wiring clamps and connectors.
7. Remove the driver's side fuse box mounting bolt and remove the fuse box from the bracket.

8. Remove the screws from the instrument panel and separate the steering column beam from the instrument panel.


9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure that the electrical wiring is not pinched.
Connect the connectors securely. Also, secure the electrical wiring and connectors with clamps correctly.
