2. Incorrect wheel and tire selection can adversely affect handling, wheel and bearing life, brake cooling, speedometer/odometer accuracy, braking distance, headlight beam direction, bumper height, ride height, and tire to body clearance.
Depending on the type of tires, the following disks are installed, indicated in the table "Correspondence of tire sizes with wheel rim parameters". For example, a possible marking is given:
- 6JJx15H5 ET45 PC D100 DIA56
In the marking of wheel disks, the first digit "5" indicate the width of the rim (H), expressed either in millimeters) or in inches. Letters "JJ" indicate the shape of the rim. Subsequent number "15" indicates the diameter of the wheel disk (D) in inches, which must correspond to the landing diameter of the tire being installed. Number "45" after the letters ET stands for disc offset (ET) in millimeters. Also in the labeling there are the following designations: "H5" means the presence of five holes for mounting bolts or studs, the numbers after the designation "DIA" - diameter of the central hole, "PCD" - the diameter of the location of the holes 'under the mounting bolts or studs.
