Belt tensioners (with pretensioners) associated with an additional passive safety system, therefore, during work see ch. Additional passive safety system (SRS).
Check the seat belts before and after installing them (see below).
Attention.
- Be careful not to damage the body or the components to be removed.
- When storing the removed seat belt and adjuster, keep them away from direct sunlight, oil and grease, and do not drop or subject them to shock.
Disconnect the battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes.
Remove the components in the order shown in the figure.
Remove the lower trim of the B-pillar (see above).
Install in order; reverse withdrawal. Check the tensioner and make sure it is good (see below).
- If the anchor bolts are loosened, do not mix up the order of the washers during installation (see below).
- If the ET screws are loose, replace them with special oversized ET screws.
- Before tightening the anchor bolts, check that the belts are not twisted.
- Apply thread sealant to the top anchor bolts while tightening.
- Correctly connect the connectors of the pretensioners and the belt tension reducer.
