
The belt tensioners (with pretensioners) are connected to the additional passive safety system, therefore during the work see chapter Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
Before and after installing the seat belts, check them (see below).
Attention.
- Do not damage the body or removed components.
- When storing the removed seat belt and adjuster, keep them away from direct sunlight, oil and grease, and do not drop or subject them to impact.
Disconnect the battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes.
Remove the components in the numbered order shown in the illustration.
Remove the lower center pillar trim (see above).
Install in order; reverse to removal. Check the tensioner and make sure it is in good condition (see below).
- If the anchor bolts were unscrewed, do not mix up the order of the washers during installation (see below).
- If the ET screws are loose, replace them with special larger ET screws.
- Before tightening the anchor bolts, check that the straps are not twisted.
- Apply thread sealant to the top anchor bolts as you tighten them.
- Connect the pretensioner and belt tensioner connectors correctly.
