Work with gloves.
Seat with side airbag
Because there are components of the airbag system (side airbag, passenger presence sensor), during work, see ch. Additional passive safety system (SRS).
Since the seats with side airbags have a special trim, replace them with the same trim. Never install seat trim without side cushions.
Do not interfere with the passenger presence sensor located in the front passenger seat cushion. Be careful not to get oil on the sensor as it can rust and cause system failure.
Remove head restraint, seat back cover (see above), driver side armrest pin (see above) and fold the seatback forward. Remove the components in numerical order.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Correctly install the clips and latches, make sure that the seams do not open on the trim, wrinkles do not form, or it does not move. Replace latches with new ones. If using seat repair pliers (available for sale), work will be easier.
